BC Ferries Book Tour! Zig Zaggin’ the West Coast
I’m in the middle of weekend #3 on the BC Book Tour and having a great time, zig-zagging the inner West Coast and taking just about every ferry route imaginable. Getting onboard a BC Ferry can be a stressful event, just making sure you actually make it in time, but once on board, it’s really a relaxing treat to be able to be taken across beautiful stretches of Canadian saltwater passages. I’m currently aboard the Queen of Chilliwack headed from Powell River to Campbell River for tonight’s reading at Coho Books (Sunday afternoon I’ll be in Courtney BC).
Last night’s reading at Breakwater Books in Powell River was great, thanks very much to everyone who came out to pack the store, and to Anthony McMorran, local renaissance man, for playing a couple of songs on his acoustic guitar, including a Rheostatics cover! It was also kind of surreal to have a few “living characters” from the book in attendance… Bernard the German and my good pal Rory (pictured above).
Another big thanks to everyone who came out to the Vancouver Public Library on Monday night, that was unexpectedly fun as well. This coming Tuesday Nov 9, I’ll be at Sitka Books on West 4th to discuss the book with the Vancouver Is Awesome Book Club. The event is free and everyone is welcome.
Also, Adventures in Solitude is maintaining its spot at #1 on the BC Bestsellers List, and has also entered the Canadian National Nonfiction Bestsellers List at #6 so once again THANK YOU BOOK BUYERS!!!
